Did we forget...."We will never forget"??

to whom it may concern:

Do you still remember what it felt like? You know, that feeling of uncertainty of what is going to happen next...."will we still be here, or has our time come to an end on this earth?" "Will i get to say goodbye to loved ones for the very last time. are my parents safe?" " Why is this happening to my country?" I'm sure we all had those questions on that Tuesday morning back in 2001.

Do you still remember what it felt like? How u couldn't help but stay glued to the horror that had unfolded right before our very eyes.sitting, watching, and waiting for the next set of attacks to be unleashed upon our tattered country. Laying your head to your pillow later that night; not knowing whether or not you would awake the next morning to more terror and death.

Do you still remember what it felt like? To see those innocent people leap to their death, so that they would not have to endure the pain of burning alive. To watch heroes going into a burning hell on earth, and to know that they probably would not return home alive. To see those burning towers fall so violently to the earth, and to know that whoever was left behind was gone forever......

Do you still remember what it felt like? The weeks and months after that terrible morning, how the country came to together as one. There was no divide amongst the people. there was no color barrier....no black...no white. There was no political parties....no republicans...no democrats. There was was no social class....no upper, or no lower classes. We were united as a people.....as a country....as ONE.

Do you still remember? Do you really remember...........how you couldn't even find an American flag on stock at your local stores. How you couldn't help but shed a tear at the sound of our national anthem being played at Baseball Parks through the country. And of course we all remember...."WE WILL NEVER FORGET"

Okay, we all remember all of those things right............wrong. I think we have forgotten what happen to our country that day. I mean, come on let's face it, the flags came down as quick as they had gone up. Instead of candle light vigils to honor the dead,we march in protest against those who have died with such honor. Instead of standing behind our government, we choose to take sides and point fingers at each other, and all i can ask is why? Why have we allowed the memory of those who were taken from us fade away. Do we need another 9/11 to bring us back together as one? The terrorist that carried out those attacks had one thing in mind, and that was to divide our great country. Well, if you ask me they succeed for the most part. Our country is in a civil war right now, and the country is divided now more than ever....who cares where Iraq's WMDs are, or if they even had them.....remember," You are either with us, or you are with the terrorist." Last time i checked Iraq was not with us.

Let us go back to the days were it didn't matter what political party you belong to, or what neighborhood you come from....for we are all AMERICANS! Let us not forget those who have gone before us so that we may live in freedom. Let's remember that our constitution was written in blood, and that it did not come at a cheap price. LET US NEVER FORGET that without unity there can be no real "United States." We should all be proud of who we are..........Americans. And as for the terrorist:

Forgiveness is between them and GOD. It should be our job to arrange the meeting.
